Roberto J. Argüello is President of CEO Advisors, Inc. a company that provides
marketing, public relations, business and marketing strategy to successful
corporations in South Florida, The Caribbean, Central and South America.

media relations, crisis management and investor relations represent the
company’s areas of expertise.
Over his over 25 years banking and business career, Mr. Argüello has advised and
counseled many successful CEOs, entrepreneurs and elected officials. He is
recognized as one of Hispanic America and Latin America most respected bankers,
who thought his career been involved in many successful transactions including
mergers, acquisitions, spin-offs, divestitures, restructurings, privatizations,
project financings and private capital raisings.
Mr. Arguello is a member of the board of Executive National Bank a U.S. based National Bank, headquartered in
Miami, Florida.
Mr. Arguello is the founder and owner of Colecciones
Militares Argüello (CMA) dba www.militarychess.com, a highly successful
manufacturer and marketer of high-end chess sets and quality wood
products. CMA products are sold at one
of New York’s finest stores Scully and Scully and thru well-established college
Bookstores run by The Follett Higher Education Group (The University of
Notre Dame, the University of Miami and the University of Stanford) and the
Nebraska Book Company (The Florida Bookstore). CMA sells NCAA approved sports
goods licensed by The Collegiate Licensing Company. In addition to the above-mentioned
relationships, CMA has developed strong relationships with the Museum of the
Confederacy, The George H. Bush Library, All Sports of Miami, Football Fanatics
and Grand Armee of Palm Beach. CMA has been the subject of numerous articles by
major national and international newspapers and news organizations like: The
Miami Herald; American Airline’s Latin America magazine - Nexus; Diario Las
Americas - the largest and most prestigious Hispanic newspaper in the United
States - and one of Latin American’s most respected business magazines,
Estrategia y Negocios.
From September 15, 2001 until December 15, 2002, Mr.
Argüello was President and CEO of Satuple, Inc. (Satellite Uplink &
Entertainment), a company that has a strong leadership in providing sports
content via close circuit to approximately 5000 Hispanic sports bars across the
United States. The Company also provides worldwide distribution of broadcast of
sports, news, entertainment and education to the United States Hispanic market
to television networks like Univision; Telemundo; Fox Sports; and Televisa.
From May 15, 1997 until November 1, 2001, Mr. Argüello was Executive Vice President of Latin
American Financial Services Corp (LAFISE), where he was in charge of the
Corporation’s strategic, credit and marketing plans. LAFISE is one of the
largest financial groups operating in Central America, Panama, Venezuela, and
the Dominican Republic. The focus of the group is centered on Commercial Banking, Corporate Finance, Capital
Markets, and Foreign Exchange. The Group provides financial services to select clients through three commercial
banks, eight foreign exchange houses, and eight broker/dealers, including a
broker dealer in the United States; Lafise Securities.

Prior to joining LAFISE, Mr. Argüello was associated with the Northern Trust
Company of Chicago, (September 1979 to May 1997). After successfully completing
the credit training program of The Northern Trust Company, Mr. Argüello was
transferred to Miami in 1981 where he became an integral part of the
Commercial, Correspondent Banking, Trust New Business and Marketing
Departments. The last position that Mr. Argüello had at Northern Trust was Vice
President of Hispanic Affairs and CRA Officer for the State of Florida.
Mr. Argüello graduated from Governor Dummer Academy in Byfield, Massachusetts
and The University of Notre Dame (Bachelor in Economics). He holds a Master in
Business Administration, with concentration in Finance, also from the
University of Notre Dame.
Mr. Argüello writes a syndicated weekly column for the main Hispanic newspapers in
the United State and Central America: Diario Las Americas (Miami), Prensa Libre
(Guatemala); Prensa Grafica (El Salvador); La Tribuna (Honduras); Bolsa de
Noticias (Nicaragua); Panama America (Panama) and Ultima Hora (Dominican Republic).
He is also an author of the best seller, La Vida Secreta de los Sandinistas, which is in its seventh printing.
Mr. Argüello is recognized by the U.S. media
and International media; members of the Congress and the Senate of the United
States, Presidents and former of Latin America and the Caribbean as one of the
top Hispanic leaders in the United States for his involvement in a number of
Hispanic causes. He has testified many times before the U.S. Congress and since
1979 has appeared in national and international programs of major TV networks
including ABC News, CBS News, CBS News, CNN, Univision and Telemundo.
Additionally Mr. Argüello has been extensively quoted by all major newswires (AP, UPI, Reuters and Bloomberg) and
major newspapers like The Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, The New York
Times, The Miami Herald and Los Angeles Times.
Since his arrival to the United States in
1979, Mr. Argüello led the first movement to obtain working permits, visas and permanent residency for over 250,000
Nicaraguans that had left their country as a result of the takeover of the
country by Marxist guerrillas. In 1983, Mr. Argüello formed the Nicaraguan
American Bankers Association (NMA). Today, although the association is not
active, there are over 5000 Nicaraguans working as bankers in Miami and all
over the United States that greatly benefited from NABA’s actions. Many of NABA
members returned to their homeland in 1990 and have played a critical role in
the revival of the Nicaraguan Private Banking System. In the international
field, Mr. Argüello has been an advocate in the fight against corruption and in
the process to strengthen the democratic process in all countries of Central
America. Mr. Argüello has also become a key advocate of the fight against
Dystonia, a disease that personally has affected him.
Mr. Argüello has served in many boards of
prominent non-profit institutions and served for eight years (1988-1996) as a
member of the United States Senate Republican Task Force headed by Senator
Orrin Hatch. In 1994, President Bill Clintons named Mr. Argüello a member of
the Host Committee of the Summit of The Americas.
Mr. Argüello is the President Emeritus of The Nicaraguan American Bankers
Association; a former member of the board of directors of The Greater Miami
Chamber of Commerce; The Florida International Bankers Association; The World
Trade Center of Miami; The Miami Bridge: Ronald McDonald Children’s Charities;
Goodwill Industries and Boystown of South Florida. In 1999, Mr. Arguello
coordinated the 1999 United Way of Miami campaign for the Division of Financial
Institutions, in which US $ 3 million was raised. Mr. Argüello is also very
involved with his alma mater The University of Notre Dame and is a former
President of the Notre Dame Club of Miami and the Notre Dame Club of Latin
American and the Caribbean.
Among the many recognitions that Mr. Argüello has
received are: Man of the year of the Notre Dame Club of Miami (October 1995);
Price Waterhouse and South Florida Magazine 1992 Banker of the Year, and on May
10, 1989; Florida’s governor Bob Martinez declared “The Roberto J. Argüello
Day” in the State of Florida for his contributions to the State of Florida;
State of Florida Hispanic Heritage Award signed by Governor Bob Martinez on
October 26, 1990; special recognition for contributing to the strengthening of
the Nicaraguan Democratic Process from The Nicaraguan Congress dated January
1996; “Distinguished Citizen”, the highest honor given by The City of
Guatemala.
